A new version of Ability LMS will launch on July 20, 2026! The upgrade is necessary to ensure continued service, security, and support for the LMS from the software vendor. You will see refreshed layouts and some minor changes to workflow. To ensure continued service, security, and support for the platform from the software vendor, a mandatory upgrade to the Ability Learning Management System will take place from July 15 - July 20, 2026.

A new feature is available for researchers using the Click Animal Operations (AOPS) module. The Transfer PI Proxy Role (TPP) was implemented on February 11, 2026.

MSU Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is updating several safety training courses to better align with regulatory requirements and ensure users receive information specific to their job responsibilities. These updates will launch at the end of October 2025.

EHS is launching a new Hazard Communication training course on July 28, 2025 as part of a phased rollout. This updated course reflects current regulatory requirements and MSU-specific safety practices and will replace the previous version.

Federal agencies are beginning to require research security training. As a result, MSU is obligated to certify that it has a Research Security program, and a key component of this program is mandatory Research Security Training for all “covered individuals.”
