Danielle is the Director of Campus Animal Resources (CAR) and the Attending Veterinarian for MSU. Dr. Ferguson has direct program authority and responsibility for animal activities at the Institution. Dr. Ferguson served several roles at MSU, including that of Clinical Veterinarian for CAR, where she provided clinical care for research animals, advising animal health, treatment, disease prevention, and enrichment. She is also an adjunct instructor in the Department of Pathobiology and Diagnostic Investigation in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Prior to her work at MSU, she served as field veterinarian for the Michigan Department of Agriculture overseeing animal health and disease diagnosis, control, and eradication within the State.
She is affiliated with numerous associations and organizations including the National and Michigan branches of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, the Laboratory Animal Welfare Training Exchange, the American Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Society of Laboratory Animal Practitioners.
Dr. Ferguson earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Jackson State University in Mississippi and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in Alabama. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Large Animal Clinical Sciences from MSU.
