HealthTeam Related Training

The HealthTeam oversees training in the following topics:

HIPAA

• Track is assigned by the HealthTeam Compliance staff and includes 1 online course which which must be completed annually.
• Required for information technology staff and providers accessing Athena system, including some Extension providers/billers for services
• Residents and some others may submit documentation for alternative training from your home institution.
• Contact the HealthTeam Compliance staff at compliance@ht.msu.edu unsure if you need training, and/or if you want previous training accepted as equivalent to the MSU course.
  
  

Medicare Fraud Awareness

• Tracks are assigned by the HealthTeam Compliance staff based on whether you are a provider or staff involved with medicare and other healthcare billing. Must be completed annually.
• May be required for information technology staff and providers accessing Athena system, including some Extension providers/billers for services.
• MSU Extension -Rather than the HealthTeam Fraud Awareness training, use the Medicare fraud awareness courses provided in the Extension track.
